  1. HI!!

i did the course ‘ how to start your own fashion label’ a few weeks ago, absolutely loved it so thank you for all your insight. I was going to go straight into my label but knowing myself, i find it hard to be disciplined. So i’m doing a short business selling leggings, seeing as they are so big right now and there aren’t enough beautiful ones out there. My plan is to make them myself, and sell at the markets, kirribilli, bondi and paddington hopefully for over 1 or 2 months of winter starting mid May.

This is to test myself as a business woman, but i’m finding there is much more to do than i thought. for example, do i need to register a name if its just for a short while? and is having woven or printed label on leggings essential or can i just get away with swing tags, size and care labels?

    Any Advice would be great!

  2. Hi Susan,
Just wanted to say a big thanks for running you ‘Start a fashion label’ last week. I never knew I could learn so much in one day!! I came home and was so feeling really motivated; I wanted to do everything you suggested straight away. However it was a Saturday, I was brain dead so I went out for a drink instead. But a work week later and I’ve investigated many of your suggestions.
I do however have a couple of questions: 1) Where is the best place to get a roll of pattern making cardboard and general sewing quipment? 2) And have you heard of the China(Shanghai) International Textiles, Fabrics & Accessories Exhibition 2011? If so, is it worth attending?
    Thanks again!
